Abstract:

PURPOSE: To recover boron trifluoride in high purity and high recovery from boron trifluoride-based catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: In a method where boron trifluoride is recovered from a reaction mixture produced in a reaction system using a boron trifluoride catalyst containing boron trifluoride and a co-catalyst, the catalyst is specifically recovered by the following processes which consists essentially of a process (1) where a gas containing boron trifluoride is generated by heating a reaction mixture in a heating tank, a process (2) where a complex between boron trifluoride and a co-catalyst is formed by bringing boron trifluoride gas into contact with an excess co-catalyst to boron trifluoride in the first catalysis tank and a process (3) where the complex between trifluoride and the co-catalyst is further formed by bringing boron trifluoride into contact with a mixture of the boron trifluoride-co-catalyst complex discharged from the process (2) and the excess co-catalyst in ≥1 the second catalysis tank linked in series with the first catalysis tank, and the boron trifluoride containing gas generated in the heating tank is introduced into at least one of the first catalysis tank and the second catalysis tank as boron trifluoride gas.
