PURPOSE: To attain sound field reproduction without losing a front direction sound by adding a filter converting a head transfer function in the front direction from that for a dummy head microphone into that for a listener individual microphone and processing a sound signal collected with the microphone by means of the filter.
CONSTITUTION: A sound is collected by a dummy head microphone 1, two left/ right channel signals are processed by filter coefficients HEL/DEL and HER/DER a of filters EL, ER. Thus, the head transfer function in the front direction is converted from that of the microphone 1 into that of the listeer. Moreover, the sound is processed of each filter coefficient of filters CL, CR, TL, TR to eliminate crosstalk from the left/right speakers 4L, 4R in a reproduced sound field 3. Then a path from the speaker 4L to the left ear and a path from the speaker 4R to the right ear are corrected respectively to a flat characteristic. Thus, the listener 5 can obtain the listening state equal to that at the listening of the location where the microphone 1 is installed.
