Abstract:
To provide a refining method for nickel oxide ore capable of efficiently producing high-quality valuable metals in the refining method including production of valuable metals by reduction of pellets including the above ore, and to provide a production method for the pellets used in the above refining method.SOLUTION: A refining method for nickel oxide ore using pellets in this invention comprises: a mixture preparation process of preparing a mixture containing nickel oxide ore and a carbonaceous reducer; a mixture-molding process of molding pellets from the mixture; a reduction treatment process of obtaining a nickel-including valuable metal and a slag by heating reduction of the pellets obtained in the mixture-molding process; and a collection process of collecting the valuable metal by separating that metal obtained by the reduction treatment process from the slag. In the above processes, the solidus temperature of the pellet is controlled to 1,250°C or more but the heating reduction temperature in the reduction treatment process or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
