In the reflection type liquid crystal display, a reflection type liquid crystal display panel 2 is arranged on a circuit board 1 and a connector 34 is arranged on an opposite surface of the circuit board, which is opposite side to the liquid crystal panel 2, a light emitting source 3 and a light guide plate 20 which are wire-connected from the connector 34 are arranged on the upper side of the liquid crystal display panel 2, and the light emitting source 3 is arranged on a longitudinal direction side face 20C of the light guide plate to constitute a surface light source, light emitted from the surface light source is reflected by a beam splitter 13 and the reflected light is applied to the liquid crystal display panel.
