Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type sensor capable of more accurate detection, a filter for the reflection type sensor used therefor, and a detection object detection method using the filter.
SOLUTION: A tapered filter 51 having the face on the sensor part 11 side constituted of first and second inclined planes 511A, 511B is arranged between the sensor part 11 and a paper conveyance route 6. On the meeting spot of the first and second inclined planes 511A, 511B, a ridgeline part L is formed, extending between a light emitting element 22 and a light receiving element 32 on the top view looking down from the paper conveyance route 6 to the sensor part 11. By this constitution, light reflected by the face on the sensor part 11 side of the tapered filter 51 among irradiated light from the light emitting element 22 toward a detection position D is reflected by the first and second inclined planes 511A, 511B, to thereby avoid entrance of the light into the light receiving element 32.
