This refreshing device includes a relaxing guiding means W for making the user relaxed and giving a stimulus for guiding to a sleep state, an assuagement retention means X for retaining the sleep state of the user, a refreshing stimulus means Y for giving a stimulus for enhancing an awareness level of the user, a wakefulness retention means Z for providing the user with high wakefulness, and a control means V for controlling the means, wherein the control means V, after actuating the relaxing guiding means W within a relaxing period, actuating the assuagement retention means X within an assuagement period, then actuating the refreshing stimulus means Y within the refreshing period, and lastly actuating the wakefulness retention means Z within a wakefulness retaining period, and the control means V creates a non-stimulus state other than background noise in the assuagement retention period.
