To provide a gas-liquid separation device which can be used for an air conditioner which can switch the flow of coolant and perform both of cooling and heating.
The gas-liquid separation device 9 includes: a container body 14 which is horizontally laid; two partition bodies 19 which have a hole through which gas-liquid two phase flow coolant flows, near the outer circumferential part and divides the interior of the container body into three chambers of two narrow spaces 20 each having a small inner volume and a sudden expansion chamber having a large inner volume; a gas phase coolant effluent pipe 17 directed to the sudden expansion chamber put between the narrow spaces; two outlet and inlet pipes 15, 16 disposed to be directed to the narrow spaces located on both sides of the sudden expansion chamber; and a grooved body 18 which enlarges surface area of the inside of the sudden expansion chamber and guides the gas-liquid two phase flow coolant flowing through the hole of the partitioned body into the hole of the other side partitioned body.
