To provide a refrigeration unit enabling most economical operation by combining an absorption refrigerator with a compression refrigerator using exhaust heat and electric power in generation facility.
This refrigerator used in a cogeneration system is constituted by combining an engine generator, a gas turbine generator, the absorption refrigerator 8 using exhaust heat from a fuel cell as a heat source, and the compression refrigerator 9 driven by electricity generated by the generator. Electric power for operating a compressor 22 of the compression refrigerator is electricity before it is converted into commercial frequency and electricity before it is frequency-converted by an inverter of the generator or electricity which is not converted into commercial frequency. The refrigeration unit may be provided with a control means for operating the compression refrigerator when refrigeration load or air conditioning load cannot be covered with refrigeration effect of the absorption refrigerator.
