To provide a refrigerator including a visible light-responding photocatalyst and a light source for the catalyst, each disposed in a cold air passage in communication with a storage chamber, in which the light from the light source can be extracted to the storage chamber side and dew condensation in a light-extracting part at the storage chamber side is prevented as much as possible.
A refrigerator includes: a cold air passage where a cold air cooled by a cooler flows; a duct member formed of a heat insulating member, which is disposed in the cold air passage and has a cold air passage part where the cold air flowing in the cold air passage flows; a pass-through opening formed in the duct member, with one end of the opening facing the cold air passage part and the other end facing the storage chamber; a visible light-responding photocatalyst disposed in the cold air passage part to bring the cold air passing therethrough into contact with the photocatalyst; a light source disposed close to the photocatalyst and irradiating the photocatalyst with visible light including light at a wavelength to excite the photocatalyst; and a light guide member disposed in the pass-through opening, for guiding the light emitting from the light source to the storage chamber side.
