PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator which has a grip which is easy to hold without increasing a body installation space.SOLUTION: A refrigerator includes a refrigerator body including a plurality of storage chambers, and a recess part (upper machine chamber 21) at the rear side of a ceiling part of the refrigerator body. Grips 32 for carrying are provided on both side parts of the recess part, and the grips 32 are provided by protruding upward from a ceiling surface of the refrigerator body, so that the grips 32 can be provided without protruding backward from a back surface of the refrigerator body. Thus, a space in a depth direction, that is an installation space, is the same as the current size, even when height of the refrigerator body becomes higher, so that the refrigerator can be installed without causing inconvenience to a user. Also, even when the grips 32 protrude upward from the ceiling surface with a gap for putting in hands between themselves and the refrigerator body ceiling surface, as the grips 32 are positioned behind the refrigerator body with the recess part, they cannot be seen from a user positioned in front of the refrigerator body, so that the grips easy to hold can be provided without damaging appearance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
