To provide a refrigerator capable of improving a function of suppressing viruses or fungi.SOLUTION: A refrigerator in an embodiment has a housing, a door, and a light irradiation unit. The housing has a storage chamber. The door has a door body that closes the storage chamber so as to be openable and closable, and a handle provided on the door body. The light irradiation unit emits light having an effect of suppressing viruses or fungi.
