Abstract:
To provide a refrigerator which can inactivate microbes adhering to stored objects inside a storage compartment with proper timing by irradiating the inside of the storage compartment with light, and can achieve both reduced energy consumption and enhanced hygiene inside the storage compartment.SOLUTION: A refrigerator 1 comprises: a main body with a storage compartment formed therein; a thermistor 10 as temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of air inside the storage compartment; and a light source 20 as light irradiation means for irradiating the inside of the storage compartment with light including light of wavelength from 300 nm to 470 nm inclusive. The light source 20 as light irradiation means irradiates the inside of the storage compartment with the light if the temperature inside the storage compartment is equal to or higher than a reference temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
