To provide a regenerative burner having a honeycomb regenerative body capable of preventing a ceramic honeycomb from being damaged, without increasing a head loss.
This regenerative burner 1 having the ceramic honeycomb regenerative body 3 is provided with a plurality of ceramic regenerative bars 5 held by a support member 4 constituted of a refractory material to bring an axial direction of the each rodlike ceramic regenerative bar 5 into substantially perpendicular to a flowing direction of combustion exhaust gas, in a combustion exhaust gas flowing-in side of the honeycomb regenerative body 3. The each rodlike ceramic regenerative body is preferably formed into a rodlike or tube body constituted of any of alumina (Al2O3), silicon carbide (SiC) and molybdenum carbide (MoC).
