Abstract:
To provide a release agent which swells, softens and releases fire spread preventing coating film of an electric wire or cable a short time irrespective of the shape of the applied surface and which itself is excellent in flame retardancy.
This agent comprises an organic solvent based on benzyl alcohol and optionally containing an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent (e.g. xylene), 40-140wt.%, based on the solvent, water and 1-5wt.%, based on the solvent, surfactant. The surfactants which can be use include glycerol fatty acid esters and polyhlycerol fatty acid esters.
