To provide a method for producing a release controlling composition.
The method includes in contacting an active substance with the solution of a film forming composition to get a composition, which is then dried, wherein the solution of the film forming composition includes a mixture of a substantially water-insoluble film forming polymer and amylose in a solvent system comprising (1) water and (2) a water-miscible organic solvent which alone can dissolve the film forming polymer; the film forming composition contains the amylose and the film forming water-insoluble polymer at a weight ratio of 1:2-3:2; and the solvent system includes the organic solvent by at least 50 wt.%. The composition is particularly suitable for delivering a medical agent into a colon.
