PURPOSE: To obtain a remedy for corpulence useful for diabetic corpulence, having long duration time of action, safety, strongly promoting action on synthesis of hormone, containing a specific compound or a salt thereof as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: A remedy for corpulence containing a compound shown by formula I (R1-R4 are H, lower alkyl, hydroxy lower alkyl or acyl; X, Y and Z are O or S), formula II or formula III or a salt thereof (e.g., acetate or maleate) as an active ingredient. The remedy is pharmaceutically manufactured into a desired dosage form for oral or parenteral administration. A dose of the active ingredient is 1,000-3,000mg daily and preferably administered dividedly three times after each meal in the case of oral administration. When parenterally administered by intramuscular injection, for example, 100-300mg active ingredient is medicated dividedly at several sites.
