To survey even a curved part of a tunnel 2 and to improve survey accuracy.
This remote surveying system in a tunnel is provided with: a docking trolley 30 coupled to a rear trolley 3 capable of traveling over a first rail 22 underlaid in the tunnel 2; a self-propelled surveying vehicle 4 capable of traveling over a second rail 23 underlaid in the tunnel in parallel with the first rail 22 and storable in the docking trolley 30; a transfer means 34 for storing the self-propelled surveying vehicle 4 in the docking trolley 30 or transferring it to the second rail 23; a surveying means 44 mounted to the self-propelled surveying vehicle 4 for surveying points of measurement of a shield driving machine 1; an imaging means 45 mounted to the self-propelled surveying vehicle 4; a remote-control means for remote-controlling the operation of the self-propelled surveying vehicle 4, the transfer means 34, the surveying means 44, and the imaging means 45; and a computing means for computing the self-location of the surveying means 44 from both image data on dowel points An and Bn from the imaging means 45 and known absolute coordinates.
