Abstract:

To almost completely remove volatile org. chlorine compds. included in a soil and to detoxify a soil by adding and mixing a material which can react with the volatile org. chlorine compds. to produce Friedel salts in the soil containing volatile org. chlorine compds.

In a soil containing volatile org. chlorine compds. (VOCs) which are used in a large amt. in electronic industry, etc., a material which can react with the volatile org. chlorine compds. to produce Friedel salts is added and mixed to modify VOCs in a soil and detoxify and stabilize VOCs. Namely, by adding calcium oxide and a compd. containing aluminum or a calcium aluminate compd. to a soil, Friedel salts are produced in the soil containing VOCs. As for the compd. containing aluminum, At(OH)3, Al2O3, etc., can be used, and as for the calcium aluminate compd., 3CaO.Al2O3, etc., can be used.
