Title:
REMOVING DEVICE FOR EXCESS DAMPENING WATER IN PRINTING PRESS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01163066
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent printing faults such as tinting on printing paper and emulsification or lowering in printing quality, such as ununiformity in density, on a printed matter from occurring, by providing a high-voltage electrode for forming a DC field between the electrode and a roller to aggregate droplets of dampening water present in an ink layer through electrostatic induction and to drain the aggregated droplets off the ink layer. CONSTITUTION:High voltage electrodes 14a consisting of piano wires stretched in parallel are arranged along a roller 6 at positions spaced from the roller 6 by a predetermined distance. A high voltage is applied from a DC high-voltage power supply 13 to the electrodes 14a to form a high DC field between the electrodes 14a and the roller 6, whereby a high DC field is formed also at an ink layer (which is an insulating material) adhered to the surface of the roller 6. The sweats exuding to the surface of the ink layer are drained off from the ink layer by electrostatic induction under the high DC field, are led downward, and are collected in a water pan 15. Droplets of dampening water present in the ink layer are drained off from the ink layer while being aggregated, are led downward, and are collected in the water pan 15.
