PURPOSE: To prevent generation of ring failure and to enhance working efficiency by applying the ground part to be repaired with aq. clear coating from which colored pigment and metallic powder are removed and then applying this coated part with aq. metallic-based coating by wet-on-wet coating.

CONSTITUTION: After grinding the coating defective part of a coated film which is formed of an underccated film 1, an intercoating film 2, an aq. metallic-based film 3 and a solvent type clear film 4, the coating defective part is applied with aq. clear coating 6 described hereunder in a range of about 1.5-2 times of the diameter of the ground part 5. The aq. clear coating 6 is obtained by removing pigment and metallic powder from the same aq. metallic-based coating as paint utilized for application. This coated face is applied with the aq. metallic-based coating 3 in a range of a degree covering the ground part 5 by wet-on-wet coating. After performing flash-off, this coated face is applied with solvent type clear coating 4a. As a result, metallic powder is incorporated into the aq. clear coating and repair is completed. Glossiness is excellently held and also generation of ring failure is prevented and working efficiency is enhanced.
