PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repeater that shuts off an input to input terminals only of a branch system where many noises are produced so as to eliminate the effect of the noises onto a transmission channel not in direct relation to a noise generating source.
SOLUTION: DFs(Directional Filters) 83-86 separate noises intruded to each of branch terminals 10-13 from an outgoing signal component and a branch system is coupled with an incoming noise of a trunk system from an input terminal 15 via switch sections 1-4 and an incoming 4 SP (split section) 9. An incoming trunk line amplifier section 7 amplifies an incoming confluent noise between the trunk line system and the branch system and a detection section 6 receives the amplified noise. A power meter 62 of the detection section 6 measures the power of the inputted incoming signal and informs a CPU 68 about it. When the CPU 68 compares the power with a threshold value of a predetermined power and detects the intrusion of the confluent noise, the CPU 68 allows a switch control section 65 to sequentially apply open control to the switch sections 1-4. When the power of switching the switch sections 1-4 reaches the threshold value or below, the switch sections of the branch terminals under open control keep an open state and the switch sections of the other branch terminals keep close control.
