To make rapidly performable the reproduction operation of an information recording medium being handled immediately before an interruption by performing a switching operation for re-switching to a reproduction operation for a plurality of information recording mediums with in a predetermined period of time even when a switching operation has been performed for switching to the reproduction operation for another reproduction operating means.
In the case where a user re-specifies a disk that was being reproduced immediately prior to the disk specifying operation under the condition in which 'reproduction information prior to the selection' is still stored in an RAM, a microcomputer controls a reproduction operation so that the user-specified disk is reproduced based on the 'reproduction information prior to the selection'. Thus, even in the case where the reproduction of a disk is interrupted due to an error operation of a reproduction apparatus during the reproduction operation of the disk, the operation is controlled, by re-specifying the reproduced disk in a predetermined period of time, to perform the reproduction operation for the disk based on the reproduction information already stored in the RAM. Thus, the reproduction operation immediately before the wrong operation can be rapidly performed.
