Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin coating apparatus for optical fiber capable of effectively removing bubbles remaining in the inner space and piping of the resin coating apparatus.
SOLUTION: A resin supplying pipe 8 and a resin discharging pipe 11 are connected to a pressure-coating head for resin 1 having a point 4 and a die 5. The resin discharging pipe 11 is provided with a vertically rising ascension part 11a. Prior to the coating of an optical fiber 13 with a resin, bubbles remaining in the coating head 1 and pipes are removed by opening a supply valve 9 while opening a discharge valve 12, supplying a resin 15 while transporting an optical fiber 13 and discharging the bubbles together with the resin from the tip of the resin discharging pipe. After completing the discharge of bubbles, the discharging valve 12 is closed to start the production of the resin-coated product.
