Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a composition containing an acetoacetylated polyvinyl alcohol, a crosslinking agent and a specific water insoluble substance, having excellent adhesion and water resistance, etc., and suitable as an adhesive composition for attaching a label to a glass substrate. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. acetoacetylated polyvinyl alcohol obtained by reacting polyvinyl alcohol with diketene with (B) 0.05-100 pts.wt. crosslinking agent selected from an aldehyde compound, aminoplast based compound, bi- or poly-valent water soluble compound and isocyanate based compound, etc., and (C) 1-500 pts.wt. water insoluble substance (preferably a granular isobutylenemaleic anhydride copolymer) selected from substances having alkali soluble property, alkali-swelling property and partially alkali soluble property and partially alkali-swelling property and preferably a filler and/or an aqueous emulsion.
