To provide a resin composition for a mud material, which can prevent the internal structure of the mud material from coarsening when having been fired.
The resin composition for the mud material is used as a binder of the mud material that is formed by kneading a refractory powder with the binder, and includes plant oil. The plant oil is one or more selected from cashew oil, paulownia oil, linseed oil, torr oil and castor oil. Furthermore, a volatilizing amount when 3 pts. of hexamine with respect to 100 pts. of the resin contained in the resin composition for the mud material is added to the resin composition for the mud material and subsequently the resin composition is heated from 50 to 200°C is 25% or less of the total of the masses before being heated of the resin composition for the mud material and hexamine.
