Abstract:
PURPOSE: To perform sound resistance welding of aluminum and steel without using insert material.
CONSTITUTION: A plated layer 2 consisting of metal of the lower melting point than the steel 1 is formed on the surface of the steel 1. A resistor 4 is inserted between the plated layer 2 and the aluminum 3. It is prevented that heat generation is concentrated on the joining interface between the plated layer 2 and the resistor 4 and the joining interface between the resistor 4 and the aluminum 3 and muggets are formed aside to the aluminum 3 side. The plated layer 2 is melted preferentially by the heat generation and melting of the steel 1 is suppressed to control forming of an intermetallic compound.
