Title:
RESONANT DC-DC CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2561201
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a resonant DC-DC converter in which switching loss is reduced by controlling output voltage in PWM system while taking advantage of the features of resonant DC-DC converter.
CONSTITUTION: When a first switching element 11 is turned ON by a signal delivered from a PWM control circuit 41, a DC power supply 10 applies a square wave Vi onto a primary winding 14 thus transmitting energy to a secondary winding 15. Consequently, current in the resonant circuit for the secondary winding 15 increases gradually from 0 and eventually makes a transition to ON state. Thereafter, the current decreases along a resonant arch and finally reaches 0. ON interval of the first switching element 11 is controlled within a range not shorter than the resonant frequency. It is also true when a second switching element 12 is turned ON. In such a manner, ON interval of the first switching element 11 is controlled constant depending on the fluctuation of Vi or Vo.
