Abstract:

To provide a retaining member for a catalytic converter which is excellent in heat insulation.

This retaining member for the catalytic converter, including a catalytic carrier formed into a cylindrical shape, a casing for storing the catalytic carrier, and a retainer which is wound around the catalytic carrier and provided between the catalytic carrier and the casing, contains inorganic fiber and at least one type of insulated filler selected from red oxide, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, and silicon carbide.
