Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a further precise retrieval by use of the information after the character recognition of a document image.
SOLUTION: When 'FUJITSU RESEARCH CENTER' is inputted as a keyword, the information for each character constituting the keyword is extracted from the recognition result of the document image. When the character 'TSU' is extracted, for example, the region containing this character and corresponding the number of characters of the keyword is estimated, and the keyword is extracted by use of the image information within this region.
