Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt for automobiles, which can prolong its service life even under the condition of heavy load.
SOLUTION: The ribbed belt is a power transmission ribbed belt having an elastic base material 21 and longitudinal supporting structures 20 made up of twisted strands made of polyamid 4.6, and the supporting structures 20 are selected so that a stress-elongation diagram of the belt has the average inclination equivalent to 12da N/% to 20da N/% of the elongation per centimeter-width and per strand. Besides, the twisted strands are laid with the minimum tension or almost zero tension, and the curing process and the cooling process are performed without laying the belt.
