Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a rigid polyurethane foam excellent in dimensional stability and adhesion without using a legally regulated blowing agent trichlorofluoromethane, a substitutive blowing agent 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane, monochlorodifluoromethane or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A polyol of a hydroxyl value of 300-450mgKOH/g prepared by using as an initiator a mixture comprising 40-70 pts. wt. pentaerythritol, 10-50 pts.wt. triebhanol-amine and at most 40 pts. wt. glycerol and obtained by effecting the addition reaction of this mixture with an alkylene oxide is used as the polyol component. The blowing agent substantially consists of water used in an amount of 4.0-8.0 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. polyol. Thus, a product having a density nearly equal to that of a rigid polyurethane foam prepared from a conventional formulation containing R-11 and excellent in dimensional stability and adhesion can be obtained.
