Abstract:
PURPOSE: To minimize any possible damage of a road resultant from a frozen base by spraying a specific water repellent having flowability at an ordinary room temperature all over the base and constructing a road after the repellent has been impregnated therein.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid water repellent having a flowability at an ordinary temperature is sprayed over a base in such a fashion that it may range from 1g/m2 to 500g/m2 where the repellent is selected from a silane group compound and organopolysiloxane groups and whose component is composed of one type or at least two base, a road is constructed on the is impregnated in the base, a road is constructed on the base. In this case, a hydrophobic soil layer composed of the specific repellent is installed not on the road surface of the base but inside a ground layer which constitutes the base, thereby preventing the freezing of the road. The spray position of the repellent and its thickness are determined based on climate conditions and the properties of the base and the position of an underground water level Furthermore, even when only a small amount of water to hold is available and results in freezing, a sand layer and a gravel layer are combined in the base so that it may be possible to prevent the freezing of the base and protect a pavement from damage induced by the freezing and prevent the generation of freezing on the surfac of the pavement as well.
