To provide a robot which works against fire of such a structure as traveling on a track installed in a space to be precluded from the hazard of fire, whose running ability is enhanced and suitability as a fire robot is enhanced, and which is established in self-conclusion about the energy source by equipping an internal combustion engine as a prime mover for the robot.
A fire robot 2 traveling on a mono-rail 1 as a track laid along the side wall of a tunnel or the wall surface of a building is equipped with a container 3 accommodating a foam type fire extinguishing agent, a pump 15 for supplying the fire extinguishing agent, a monitor nozzle 4 revolved by a motor, a TV camera 5 for monitoring of fire, wheel 6 for robot traveling, a prime moving device 50 and control device 100 to supply the dynamic power or electricity, and an aid battery 110 to supply the electricity as aid operation to the prime moving device 50 and/or control device 100. The prime moving device 50 is equipped with an engine using gasoline as the fuel, and a power generator is operated by this engine, and the running motor is operated with the generated electricity.
