PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the generation of stripe pattern even through carrying out high speed coating and to produce a coating panel having a fine surface by applying a coating material, which is picked up by a roll and heated by a surface heated roll, on a material to be coated.

CONSTITUTION: The coating material in the paint pan 3 is picked up by the pick up roll 1, is controlled film thickness by natural revolution of the transfer roll 9 and is applied through the applicator roll 9 on the material 5 to be coated travelling along the back up roll 4. In this case, the heating element 11 is buried in the vicinity of the surface of the transfer roll 9 to control temp. of the roll surface. Then, temp of the coating material picked up by the pick up roll raise to decrease viscosity, thus the generation of the stripe pattern is suppressed and fine coating in high speed is obtained.
