PURPOSE: To miniaturize a device simultaneously performed in its chamfering and burr removal by constituting the device forming the first and second flat dies in tilt surfaces opposed facing to each other to the inside so as to mesh pinion type dies with a workpiece gear being opposed facing to a rack type die driven in the lengthwise direction.
CONSTITUTION: A rack type die 2, positioned in the initial position, introduces a workpiece gear 5 from a side of the second flat die 4 to a biting guide tooth part A of the first flat die 3. When the workpiece gear 5 is finished in its setting for the flat dies 3, 4, this rack type die 2 is linearly moved along its lengthwise direction, and adapting a tooth, formed in a tooth arranged surface of the first and second flat dies 3, 4, to both tooth surface side edge parts in a tooth width direction of the workpiece gear 5, chamfering rolling work is performed. While meshing a pinion type die 1 with the workpiece gear 5, a burr, protruding from a chamfered surface to the inner side of a tooth groove, is crushed by rolling. Accordingly, chamfering and burr removing work can be simultaneously performed.
