To improve the curve turning performance without degrading the traveling performance, and to facilitate the maintenance with a simple device.
This rolling stock comprises an actuator 1 interposed between a stock body 2 and a truck frame 3a of a single-axle or double-axle or articulated truck 3 which is turnable with respect to the stock body 2, and a control device 4 which assists the truck frame 3a to be self-controlled according to the radius of the curve by information on entry of a leading rolling stock 5a into a curved section and gives the turning force according to the radius of the curve to the actuator 1. Similar effect to the forcible steering of a wheel-set is obtained by a simple configuration of steering the truck frame, resulting in no changes in the engagement of gears of a drive device while the rolling stock passes through the curved track or no changes in the working face between a wheel tread or a brake disk and a brake shoe. The curve turning performance can be improved without degrading the traveling performance. Safety of the rolling stock when traveling on the curved track is increased, and the reliability and economy become more excellent by a simple configuration of the device.
