To directly control rolling itself during turning by utilizing a motor generator of a hybrid vehicle.
The present invention relates to a rolling suppression method for a hybrid vehicle that uses both an engine 1 and motor generator 2 and has an axis of rotation A of a rotor 3 of the motor generator 2 oriented in a back and forth direction of the vehicle. Behavior of the hybrid vehicle during turning is detected by various sensors (yaw rate sensor 7, steering angle sensor 8, and G sensor 9). When it is determined that roll moment exceeds a predetermined value after a required time, on the basis of the detected values, a clutch 4 between the engine 1 and motor generator 2 is disconnected and a gear position of a transmission 5 is changed to a neutral position. The number of revolutions of the rotor 3 of the motor generator 2 is changed to generate angular acceleration in a rolling direction. Thus, reactive force moment for canceling the roll moment is generated in a stator 12 side.
