Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper capable of shortening the total length.SOLUTION: In a cylindrical casing 1 having an opening portion at one end portion, and a bottom portion at the other end portion, a sliding hole portion having the long hole-shaped cross-section, is formed inside of the casing 1. A piston 3 is formed so as to have the same cross-sectional shape as the sliding hole portion, and fitted to the sliding hole portion so as to be slidable and not to be rotatable. An outward communication groove 7B as a part of a communication passage 7 for communication of a first chamber and a second chamber, is formed on a longitudinal end portion of the cross-sectional shape of the piston 3.
