Abstract:

To provide a rotary electric machine in which high cooling performance and insulation quality can be ensured even when the voltage and output are high.

A rotary electric machine 1 comprises a rotor 14, a stator 20 having a stator core 30 and a stator winding 40, and a cooler cooling the stator winding 40 by supplying a liquid refrigerant. The stator winding 40 is formed by connecting a plurality of U-shaped conductor segments 50. The conductor segment 50 has a skew part 55 intersecting other conductor segment 50 at the coil end, and a tip part located at the tip of the skew part 55. At one axial end of the stator winding 40, a plurality of joints 56 are provided by joining the tip parts of different conductor segments 50. The joints 56 are arranged in multiple annular shape and covered with an insulation resin 60, connected by the insulation resin 60 only in the radial direction, and having a space S between the insulation resins 60 in the peripheral direction.
