A rotary electric machine includes: a core in which a plurality of slots 22 are distributed in a circumferential direction of a cylindrical core reference face, and each of the slots 22 has a slot opening 22b having an opening direction toward an inner side or an outer side in a radial direction of the core reference face; and a conductor wire 4 for a coil, wound around the core. The conductor wire 4 for a coil has a deformable cross section shape, has a diameter φ of a circular cross section being larger than a slot opening width W1 that is a width in a circumference direction of a slot opening 22b, and has flexibility so as to be made flat to have the slot opening width W1 or less.
