Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable to detect an initial slight leak of a liquid cooling medium at an early time by providing a gas generator which absorbs the liquid cooling medium and generates a special gas at a rotor, and a detector which senses the special gas at a static part. CONSTITUTION:A gas generator 7 is attached inside an insulation tube 4 between grooved spacers 5, between a grooved spacer 5 and a shaft 1, or between a grooved spacer 5 and a ring holder 3. The gas generator produces a special gas after absorbing water which is a liquid medium such as a raw material for soda. A ventilating path 8 is provided for the rotor shaft 1 and the ring holder 3 to guide the generated gas to outside of a ring 2. A cylindrical can 10 is disposed with a certain space around the rotor. A detector 11 which senses the special gas generated by the gas generator is provided at a location opposite to an opening of the ventilating path 8 inside the can 10. This enables early detection of the leak of the cooling medium.
