PURPOSE: To perform the external shape formation with one heat without causing the rupture, crack and thickness deviation of a work by providing the roughing roll adjustable with pressing to the outer end face of a work and profile forming roll on the outer side of the lower die of a rotary forging machine.
CONSTITUTION: The roughing roll 14 with cylinder 15 and profile forming roll 16 with cylinder 17 are provided with projection to the side part from rotatable column and each roll 14, 16 are brought into contact selectively with the outer end face of a work 11 by rotating the column. Due to the press forming performed by the profile roll 16 at the rolling reduction completing time of the work 11 by the roughing roll 14 therefore no rupture is caused nor any sliding. Also due to the external shape forming being performed by the press at the rolling reduction completing time no thickness deviation is caused and no cracks are caused because of no die being changed.
