To turn a vehicle on a railroad crossing and shift it from a road to a track or vice versa by providing specific expansion legs, expansion devices, and erection devices on the lower face of the center section of a vehicle body frame, and separately providing a turning device having a positioning recessed reception section.

Three or more (four in all) expansion legs 2 are provided at nearly the center portion of the vehicle body bottom section of a track/road vehicle 1. Road traveling wheels 3 and vertically movable track traveling wheels 4 are provided at the front and rear of the bottom section of the vehicle body. The expansion legs 2 have an expandable telescopic-structure and are provided with expansion cylinders and erection cylinders. The separate turning device 11 is made of aluminum to be made lightweight. When the track/road vehicle 1 is switched from a road to a track, the turning device 11 is fixed to rails, and the track/road vehicle 1 is moved on it. The expansion legs 2 are erected and extended, the tips of the expansion legs 2 are supported by the reception section of the turning device 11 to change the direction of the vehicle body, then the expansion legs 2 are shrunk to complete the switching work.
