PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical-body visual inspection apparatus by which the surface of a spherical body can be inspected optically, with high accuracy, at high speed and easily.
SOLUTION: A rotating-body visual inspection apparatus is constituted of a driving roller 5 which is turned to a prescribed direction in a fixed position around a horizontal shaft and in which a recessed part 6, for spherical-body discharge, into which a spherical body 1 is fitted is provided in a part of the outer circumference, of a constant-delivery holding part 10 which is provided with a constant-delivery device 12 used to supply the spherical body 1 one piece by one piece to the surface position od the outer circumference at the driving roller 5 and with a roller device 13 used to hold, in a fixed position, the spherical body 1 supplied by the constant-delivery device 12 so as to be rotatable and of a visual inspection part 20 which optically inspects the existence of a flaw on the surface of the spherical body 1 turned to a prescribed direction in the fixed position. The driving roller 5 is turned continuously, and a series of operations such as the constant delivery, the rotation and the discharge of the spherical body 1 are performed by making use of its rotational force. While the spherical body 1 makes one rotation in the fixed position, respective circumferential parts divided in a round slicing direction perpendicular to its shaft are inspected by a plurality of photoelectric sensors at the visual inspection part 20.
