To prevent break of conductor bars and field winding by thermal elongation of the conductor bars, by forming axially continuous grooves at both end sections of the inner peripheral section of the head section of a rotating electric machine in the peripheral direction, inserting the conductor bars into the grooves, and then, electrically connecting the end sections of the conductor bars to each other.
Axially continuous grooves 11 are formed at the end sections 5c of the inner peripheral section of the head section 5b of a rotating electric machine in the peripheral direction, and conductor bars 10 are respectively inserted into the grooves 11. The bars 10 are positioned on the outside of a field winding 7 in the radial direction and protruded outward from the end sections 5c to both sides in the axial direction. The end sections of the bars 10 are electrically connected to each other by other conductor bars 10. The circuit composed of the conductor bars 10 constitutes a brake winding which is different from that composed of damper bars 8 and damper segments. Therefore, break of the conductor bars 10 themselves and field winding by thermal elongation of the bars 10 can be prevented while asynchronous magnetic flux components are reduced.
