Abstract:
To provide a rotation angle detector and a motor drive system capable of continuously adjusting the amplitude of an excitation signal applied to a resolver and further coping with a phase delay of the excitation signal.SOLUTION: There is provided a rotation angle detector in which a sinusoidal excitation signal is supplied to the excitation coil of the resolver, and which detects the rotation angle of a motor on the basis of the amplitudes of first and second resolver signals output from a first detection coil and a second detection coil. The rotation angle detector comprises: a resolver control circuit 51X including at least a function 51a of adjusting the excitation frequency of the excitation signal, a function of computing a rotation angle from the signals taken in by AD-conversion of the resolver signals, and an AD-conversion timing adjustment function 51b; and a filter circuit 52 such as a LPF for converting the rectangular signal of an excitation frequency into the sinusoidal excitation signal. The resolver control circuit 51X adjusts the excitation frequency so that the amplitude of the excitation signal becomes a prescribed value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
