Abstract:

To obtain a structure which reduces the rotational torque of a rolling bearing at the pinion gear side and ensures load capacity simultaneously.

As a rolling bearing at the pinion gear 10a side, a single row ball bearing 12 is used in place of the conventional single row tapered roller bearing. Simultaneously, by forming an inner ring raceway 15 constituting the ball bearing 12 directly on the outer circumferential surface of the pinion shaft 3b, the diameter DA of the smallest diameter part of the inner ring raceway 15 is made smaller than the diameter DB of the smallest diameter part of an inner diameter raceway 17 constituting the single row tapered roller bearing 4d at the anti pinion gear side (DA<DB). The diameter d of each of balls 16, 16 constituting the ball bearing 12 is made larger correspondingly. The employment of such a structure reduces rotational torque of the rolling bearing and ensures load capacity simultaneously.
