Title:
ROTOR FOR ROTARY ENGINE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005090469
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve the problem that a rotor for a rotary engine has a complicated basic shape requiring complicated machining work and after-cutting process for adjusting a compression ratio.

The rotor for the rotary engine adopts a circular rotary peripheral surface shape. Focusing attention that three points are only required for determining a circular arc, points are set at two ends (contacts with an apex seal) and a center, similarly to those of the rotary basic shape. When the compression ratio is intended to be adjusted, a radius is made smaller in a concentric manner, namely, with the center being the same, whereby the maximum and minimum values for the capacity of an operation chamber are kept greater to lower the compression ratio. As mentioned above, the shape of the rotary peripheral surface is circular and so a rotary machine (a lathe) can be used for machining the rotor. When a rotary material is mounted on a rotary portion of the lathe, a plurality of materials are fixed symmetrically to a rotational center for rotating balance and improved working efficiency.
