Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route information providing device capable of shortening the time required for a course simulation and sufficiently providing facility information.
SOLUTION: When the course simulation mode is set after a recommended course is calculated, a route map superimposed with a car mark and the recommended route is displayed (S2), and the distance L between the present car mark display position and the next intersection guide point is calculated (S3). Whether the distance L is longer than the reference distance L0 or not is judged (S4). As a result, if the distance L is judged to be longer than the reference distance L0, the zone is judged to be a zone requiring no intersection information, and the map for the zone is skipped so that the car mark is moved to the next intersection guide point (S10). The zone requiring no information is skipped in this course simulation.
