Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reinforce rudder power greatly in steering without increase of resistance in straight sailing by providing a vortex generator driving mechanism which projects the vortex generator from the rudder side face on the low pressure side according to the difference in pressure of both the sides of the rudder. CONSTITUTION:A pressure difference detecting means P detecting pressure difference of both sides of a rudder is constructed with a hole 4, a piston 6 or a spring 5. And a vortex generator driving mechanism D projecting a vortex generator 3 from a rudder side face of the low pressure side according to the pressure difference detected is constructed. And a vortex generator guide mechanism G enabling the vortex generator 3 projecting from the rudder side face is constructed. Thus, when the vortex generator 3 is projected from the outside face of the rudder on the low pressure side, longitudinal vortex is generated at the rear side, and by this longitudinal vortex, flow field of the outside of the rudder where break away of flow will easily occur becomes stable flow and large rudder force can be generated.
